Hello Family and Friends!

Hello! This week was full of lots of things. We had Zone Conference this past Tuesday and my companion and I had to talk in the conference. I was shaking because I was so scared. Don’t worry. The Lord was with us and it went well haha. On Wednesday I renewed my visa so I could say in Brasil.

Today we have an opportunity to sing in the center of Curitiba at a theatre with all the missionaries in my mission and the mission next to us. It is a presentation of Christmas. There will be other choirs singing and dances and the missionaries singing. I am so excited. I will make sure to take pictures for you all to see.

This past week we were teaching our investigator, Lucas who is 18 years old. He is a relative of one of the members in our ward. Lucas goes to church every single week and lives the teachings of the gospel. We practically pleaded with him to be baptized!! We will work with him the next week. I know he will be baptized. We just need to be patient.

I don’t have much time to talk but I love you all. I’m excited for this Christmas season and the chance we have to serve others on the campaign the church has “25 ways in 25 days!!” I encourage you all to participate!!! I know we can help others throughout this Christmas season!

Love you allllll

Happy Thanksgiving Week!!

Hope you all will have a great Thanksgiving and I hope you all eat a ton for me!! Here in Brazil they think Thanksgiving is a little weird, hahahhaha. They don’t celebrate it here, which I think is a bummer. I just want to express my gratitude for all of you and for the support I am receiving every single day!!

This past week was nothing very special. We had a family home evening this past Monday with all the youth in our ward. It was such a fun family home evening. Everyone bore their testimonies and talked about serving others. After we all ate hot dogs together!

I don’t have much time to write this but I just want to bear my testimony that I know this gospel is true, that god loves every single one of his children. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and is prepared for our days. I know that Christ will come again and that we all need to be prepared so that we can be ready to meet him and our Heavenly Father. I know that the day he comes will be a day of joy! I know that families can be together forever! The gospel brings so much joy and happiness in our lives. God blesses us every single day!! Love you all. Have a great weeekkkk!!

Favorite Birthday Ever--Serving Others

First off I just want to say thank you for all the birthday wishes! Especially my wonderful mother who is the best mother in the whole wide!!--20 years old, but still feeling like I’m 16.

This week if, I’m being honest, passed by reallllly slow!! Since it is the beginning of a new transfer we are trying to find new people to teach. Let me tell you it is not all that easy contacting people all day long and knocking on doors seeing if people want to receive the restored gospel. We encountered all sorts of people this week--people who just want you to give them the invite to church and leave them alone, others who are anti-mormon and will ask you questions all day long criticizing the church, or others who stop you in the street and start crying and pouring out all their feelings to you when you don’t even know their names, and others who accept your invite but don’t live in your area so you can’t teach them. I’m just kidding. There is a bright side to this story everyone! We have been teaching a family who lives next door to a member in the ward who is so excited about the gospel it warms my heart. Viviane, our investigator, is way more excited about church and now stays the whole time. On Tuesday she invited us to come over and have dinner with her. They are going to make us food from japan because her husband is from Japan. I am excited because it is not rice and beans (which is all they eat here in brazil)!!

It was raining a lot this week but stopped and was beautiful on Saturday on my birthday. I prayed to Heavenly Father and told him that if I could have one present for my birthday it would be a beautiful day so we could work hard on Saturday!! I can tell you for sure he answered my prayers! It didn’t feel like my birthday on Saturday. I had to tell myself the whole day that it was my birthday. We had a normal day finding new people to teach and teaching our investigators. One woman we are teaching didn’t know about Mormons and thought the Book of Mormon was our bible. We explained that we believe in the bible and the Book of Mormon. She was really interested and said she will read! My favorite family in this ward made lunch for me and made a cake for my birthday it was so sweet. I think this was one of my favorite birthdays--serving others.

The primary program here was on Sunday and let me tell you it was the cutest thing ever--kids singing primary songs in Portuguese. Doesn’t get better then that. The spirit was so strong. Viviane’s little girl was singing in the primary program as well. I have never been so happy!!

I love you all! Thanks for everything!!

Until next weeekkkkk.

Love,

Happy November Everyone!

Helloooo Everyone!!

These past couple of weeks have been the last weeks of the transfer. Leonardo got baptized on October 28th Wahoooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a great day! For those of you who don’t remember Leonardo, he is 19 years old who plays rugby and goes to college and he is a friend of one of the families in our ward. His baptism was a success. Everyone came and supported him--less actives and members-- and we had lots of goodies there as well. In the beginning, Sis Oliveira and I almost made the church turn into a pool because we almost overflowed the baptismal font. hahahhahha. Don’t worry, we didn’t. Leonardo was so happy the next day at church he showed up in a suit to receive the Holy Ghost. The gospel really changes lives. My hope is that in a year he can serve a mission and change other people’s lives as well.

I am sad to say that unfortunately I am on to my 3rd umbrella here in Curitiba. It rains like cats and dogs with a wind that blows so strong it destroys my umbrellas. Curitiba: Sister Erickson 0! It is very hard to work in the rain because there is no one in the streets and no one wants to let us in because we are soaking wet. Jane our investigator came to church with us the other week and loved it. She is still trying to stop smoking. We are trying to help her set goals and make plans. I know she will overcome this addiction she has.

This last Thursday Sister Oliveira and I got sick. We think we ate something in the house of a less active that made us sick. Sister Oliveira stayed in bed all day Friday and couldn’t get up because she was feeling really bad. I took care of her like my loving mom took care of me when I was sick. Thanks Mom, for all you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was feeling fine until Friday night when I started throwing up but I woke up Saturday morning feeling well.

We are now starting a new transfer and I am staying with sister Oliveira in Capao da Imbuia for one more transfer (or more). I hope this transfer will be great!! I know God is preparing his children to hear the gospel.

Thanks everyone for your love and support. Remember to be a light in someone’s life this week!!

Love you allllllll
