THIS IS BRASIL!

Well this week I think I have seen everything imaginable here in Brasil. I learned lots of things and met lots of interesting people. First off our investigators had beer in their house so we took the beer from them and dumped it on the side of the road. My companion smelled like beer after that. We had to stop in a member’s house and wash our hands.

One investigator who we started teaching this week, has a husband who is a thief for a living. There are people who sell drugs on the corner of a bakery where we pass every single day. “THIS IS BRASIL,” as said in Fast and Furious!

On the bright side, our investigators will be baptized this Saturday!! I am so excited for them! Roselaine and Janayna--a mom and daughter. They are so excited and they already want to enter in the temple. I love being a missionary and watching this change happen in the lives of others.

I don’t have much time to write this week but I love you all!!

Buenos!

Buenos!

I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day! Yes, of course I did too--working for the Lord on this day! Feeling the Lord’s love!! This week was a great week! We didn’t have p-day on Monday because we went to the temple today (Wednesday). I love the temple more then ever as you all know.

This week we marked a date with our investigators for March 3rd!! I hope everything will go right and they can be baptized. We worked hard to mark this date.

This won’t be a long letter today but I love you all and thanks for all the support. On Sunday I will have 1 year and 1 month wahooooo! Time is flying by. I love this work here. I’m doing everything I can to please the Lord in this work. I hope you all are doing welllllll!!

A Pequena Milagre

Hello everyone!!!

This week was a great week. I received my new companion. She is from Fortaleza, Brasil. Good news! She speaks Portuguese fluently. Her name is Sister Rodrigues and is such a great missionary. She has so much faith and inspires me to be a better missionary. I have already learned so much.

This week we have already had such great experiences. One night we were making street contacts when we met Meri and her daughter, Stephany. We made a contact and said we were missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ. We asked if we could come back another day and teach her. She said, “Well, why don’t you just come in right now.” Of course we took the opportunity. My companion was a little scared because we didn’t have anything planned and didn’t know what to teach. I turned to her and said "Vai da tudo certo!" We entered and were conversing with the--turns out the other week they watched the movie of the restoration. They found it on YouTube and just started watching--now this was definitely a miracle. We then started teaching about Joseph Smith and about the restoration.

The Lord works miracles. The Lord is in every moment in our lives. He is in the missionary work preparing His children to receive His gospel. This was a little miracle that happened.

I hope all is well with everyone at home!
I love you all have a great week.
With all my love,
Sister Erickson
