Yeah Gustavo!!

Hellloooooo Everyone!!!

This weeekkkkkk has been a great weeek. Gustavo was baptized this past Saturday and got confirmed on Sunday. I am soo incredibly happy for him and I know he will add so much to this ward here where I am serving. HIs whole family came to church yesterday with him. We are going to start working more with his mom and dad now to try and baptize them.

The family that we have been working with didn’t work out. They called us the other day and said that they are good with being Catholic right now. They said right now is not the time for them to be Mormon. I was really sad but I am glad Sister Flora and I had a chance to plant a seed. Hopefully in the future with other missionaries they will be ready to receive the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

Sister Flora, my companion, got transferred today. I will be staying in my same area. I will receive my new companion tomorrow. I am excited to get to know my new companion. I am sad that I only knew Sister Flora for one transfer but I know we will meet again. Let the new journey begin with my new companion. I will be her trainer. I am nervous and excited. Hopefully everything will go well. On the mission there are a lot of changes that happen all the time. I am one who doesn’t like change but change brings new opportunities--opportunities to grow and to learn.

This week is general conference. I am sooo excited to watch again. I can’t believe it has been 6 months since the last general conference. Time passes by really fast.

I love you all so much. Thanks for all the support. Sorry I don’t have photos. This computer doesn’t allow me to send photos. Sorry Mom!

Gustavo, Sister Flora
 Love youuuuuuu alllllll!!!

BLESSINGS BLESSINGS BLESSINGS

This week has beeeen another WONDERFUL WEEK! It is turning real hot here now. Weird to think it is almost entering the holiday season again!! It will be a very different holiday season for me here in Brasil but I am soooo excited!

This weeekk we had many miracles happen. Just to update you guys on our investigators. Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to mark a baptismal date with the family I talked about--Nilo and suria. We tried but they were a little hesitant because they are all Catholic and she has a fear of changing religions. We are working really hard with them. I know the lord will help us every step of the way. What we are missing is lessons with members with them. This week we are going to mark more lessons with members.

On the bright side, we have a baptism this weeekkk with a boy named Gustavo!!! He is 14 years old! We have been teaching him for 2 weeks now and he will be baptized Saturday. I am sooo excited for him. He is growing and learning every single day. I KNOW there are people out there just waiting to receive the gospel. It is so important that all of us open our mouths and talk about the gospel. I know it is scary some times but as soon as we open our mouths to talk about the gospel the Lord is right by our side helping us know what to say.

I know the gospel is true. I know that god lives and Jesus Christ lives. I know that as members we all have the responsibility to talk about the gospel with everyone we meet. I am loving being a missionary every single day!!!! Time is passing by faster then ever right now. Right now this time is so precious that I have right now--only 18 months of my life can I do this work for the Lord. Every moment is so special!

I love you all. Thanks for all the support!! I hope everything is going well with you all. HAVE A GREAT WEEKKKKKK! UNTIL NEXT WEEEKKK!

BOM DIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

BOM DIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

THIS WEEK HAS BEEN THE BEST WEEK!! Let me tell you miracles happened!!

Remember last week when I told you about a family I am teaching? Well they came to church with us this last Sunday and they LIKED IT! They are a family that is prepared to receive the gospel! Sister Flora and I prayed our guts out this week. Poor Sister Flora, every moment I asked her if we could pray to help this family! I know that when we do our part the Lord does his part!! Faith with out works is dead! I truly believe 100% in this scripture. We hope to mark a baptismal date with them this week but we will see how it goes.

Also this week we are teaching a boy named Gustavo and his mom Vivyane. We taught him the first lesson on Saturday and invited them to pray about the Book of Mormon. The next day he came to church with us and as we were walking he told us, "Guess what?? My family and I prayed together to know if the Book of Mormon is true!!" This is a dream for me to hear. It’s like my parents telling me when I was a kid that they were going to take me to Disney World!! So many great things happened this week!

Some of us missionaries this week had a chance to march in a parade they had here in Curitiba on September 7th. It is like our 4th of July. Anyways we marched in a parade singing hymns. It was a pretty cool experience! We were all holding flags with a Book of Mormon in hand.

I don’t know if you guys remember Jimmy but he is our investigator I talked about last week. He invited us to go to his church. His church is evangelical. SIster Flora and I were thinking about it and we called president to ask for permission. He said yes. Yesterday we went with Jimmy. Woah let me tell you his church was very different. I have never set foot in a church that wasn’t Mormon in my life. The people there were very nice but the pastor was screaming about the bible and Jesus saying "Jesus TE ama!!" I felt a little overwhelmed--like--yes, I know he does. You don’t need to yell ahhah! I am glad I had the opportunity to go to see what it was like to show that we care about Jimmy but one thing I know for sure is that the church of Jesus Christ is a true church upon the earth! There are so many good churches in the world that preach good things but the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints is different and truly has the keys.

Eu te amo voces!

Have a great rest of the week!

Love,

Sister Erickson!

I am Feeling It This Week

Sounds like you guys are having a really fun time at the cabin with everyone there! I bet Wyoming is really, really pretty right now! It’s great and comforting to me that the lord is protecting and blessing you guys so much. It is so comforting to me to see that you guys are so happy and having so much fun. I can’t wait to go up there again with you guys in just a short while.

It’s great and comforting to me that the Lord is protecting and blessing you guys so much. This week was a little bit hard because I was sick but that’s okay because there is always a new week to come right? But miracles still happened this week. We contacted a family this week. i am sooooo excited. When we made a contact with them on the street we started talking about how families can be together forever! This woman’s face lit up--no joke. She was really interested to know that families could be together forever. We marked a day to return back to teach her and her family. The lesson went well with them and we are going to return back on Tuesday. They said they would come to church with us next week. Pray they will come to church with us!!

Another one of our investigators name is Jimmy. He is 19 years old. He has come to church with us 3 times now and he is reading the Book of Mormon. He has some doubts about the Book of Mormon and we are trying to help him with his questions. Jimmy is of another church. He invited us to his church. We called president to know if it is okay to go to his church with him. We are going to teach him on Thursday and Friday. I hope we can clear up some of his questions and hopefully he will see and feel the truth of the Book of Mormon.

This week I was reading a talk in the Liahona from this past general conference! Don’t look Around, LOOk UP!! Everyone should read this talk. It is so important to always look up and not around. There are so many things in this world that are not very good! We compare ourselves on a daily basis and sometimes we focus on the negative things! It is so important to always look up! Look up and realize that Heavenly Father is always blessing us in every moment of our lives.

I love you all and thank you for the support. I am really feeling it this week!!

Love,

Sister Ericksonnnnnnnn
